Maira Kalman: 37 Paintings @Julie Saul Gallery

This exhibition will include a selection of paintings drawn from Kalman's books of the last two years, as well as a series of paintings executed while she was a resident at the American Academy in Rome during the fall of 2011. In addition, the Gallery will exhibit two paintings, which appeared on the cover of 'The New Yorker' in March 2012 and 2005 respectively. In addition to the thirty-seven paintings, the show will include an embroidery Kalman began in Italy last fall. She will continue to develop this work in progress at the gallery throughout the course of the show.
