Showing American Experience: Stonewall Uprising (2010), an event that made history. Through eyewitness interviews and archival footage, documentary filmmakers Kate Davis and David Heilbroner recapture a pivotal moment in time that mobilized a generation of gay activists and marked the dawn of the modern Gay Rights Movement. Much like Rosa Parksâ symbolic refusal to move to the back of the bus, gay bar patronsâ refusal to comply with a police raid at Greenwich Villageâs Stonewall Inn in 1969 would change the course of history Entry to our 100-year-old building and meeting rooms is available for most wheelchair users with prior arrangements. Please call ahead (212-874-5210 x 107) for setup of our portable system and plan to arrive one hour before start time.
