Famous Artist Michael Kalish Unveils Sculpture In Hudson River Park With Perrier Jouet @Hudson River Park - Pier 46

Perrier-Jouët has partnered with famed contemporary artist Michael Kalish to create a three-dimensional, 14-and-a-half foot tall sculpture to be unveiled in the Hudson River Park at the Charles Street entrance, near Pier 46, on Monday, June 11th. The sculpture will be on display and open to the public for four weeks. Additionally, a generous donation will be made during the unveiling by Perrier-Jouët to the Hudson River Park to help their continuous efforts in maintaining the allure of the park. The sculpture consists of two swooping anemone stems created out of stainless steel and bent aluminum tubing. The flower petals are hand cut layers of aluminum with gold metal piping from more than 100 Perrier-Jouët Champagne cages. In addition, hundreds of champagne corks were ground to a fine consistency and inlayed in the base. Perrier-Jouët partnered with Michael Kalish to create his interpretation of a beautiful, alluring garden to pay homage to the Perrier- Jouët Belle Époque bottle motif. The magnificent and delicate anemone flower is an iconic symbol of the House of Perrier-Jouët and served as inspiration for Kalish’s “Belle Époque” sculpture.
